Overview

The OpenARM Follower (bimanual, 2 arms) is a fully assembled and tested complete system for the OpenARM leader-follower setup. It is designed as the executing robot that mirrors the motion of a leader system and is intended for teleoperation, data collection, and contact-rich manipulation. The hardware is built from the official OpenARM CAD reference, and all interfaces and dimensions remain reference-compatible.

This system is delivered as a ready-to-integrate hardware kit with 2 arms, including Damiao actuators per reference design, a 2-channel USB-to-FDCAN module, and 2× 24V / 300W power supplies. It is compatible with official OpenARM software and follows the OpenARM hardware reference documentation.

The OpenARM platform uses 7DOF humanoid arms and a CAN-based motor communication setup via USB-to-FDCAN. The follower grippers use the reference mechanism with a maximum jaw opening of 88 mm. According to the OpenARM definition, the payload is nominal 4.1 kg and peak 6.0 kg including the end-effector.
